TRI ISO SUPER 9 - The Best Thermal Heat Insulation Solution!

Iri-Iso Super 9 Glossary

Acoustic reduction R: Characterizes the acoustic insulation of a constructed surface.

Active insulation: An insulation product which brings thermal comfort and reduces all forms of energy transfer, particularly radiation.

Cold wall syndrome': Subjective impression of feeling cold in front of a wall or surface, due to radiation.

Comfort: Subjective impression of well-being.

Comfort zone: Temperature at which the human metabolism is not active (physiological comfort). It is defined as the average of the air temperature and the temperature of surrounding surfaces (radiation).

Comfort zone: (oC)= Air T (oC) + T surrounding surfaces (oC)

Condensation: Transformation of water vapor into droplets (fog, dew).

Condensation point: Temperature at which water vapor become a liquid.

Conduction: Means of transmitting thermal energy in a material.

Convection: the movement of fluid under the influence of a temperature variation. Means of transmitting thermal energy in a material.

Decibel (db): Transformation of water vapor into droplets (fog, dew)

Energy: Internal movement of a particles as a result of a mechanical action (movement friction).

F Classification: Toxicity of combustion fumes, ranging from FO (non-toxic) to F5 (unclassified).

Finish: All visible surfaces, such as plasterboard, paneling etc.

Heat/Warmth: Impression, feeling of comfort. State of matter characterized by the internal movement of matter characterized by internal movement of constituent particles.

U value: Surface transmission coefficient (W/M2,K). The lower the U value, the higher the insulation of the surface. The U value does not take into take into account real superficial exchanges through radiation and convection.

Lambda A: The thermal conductivity of a material. The lower the lamda vale, the insulation properties of the product (W/m.K)

R: Thermal resistance. The greater the R value, the better the insulation properties of the material. The R value does not take into account real superficial exchanges through radiation and convection (m2.K/W). R= thickness(m) divided by A.

Reflection: A change in direction of the light, heat or sound waves when they hit a reflective surface.

Thermal bridge: Part of a building presenting a failure in the insulation and thus causing heat loss at the point.

Thermal radiation: Means of spreading energy without physical means, through infa-red electromagnetic waves, which cros an environment transparent to them without affecting its temperature. Heat is given out when these rays are absorbed by non-reflective material.

Water repellent: Does not attract water and prevents a film of water forming on the surface.
